The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo (SPRK) has issued an international warrant notice against Kosovo Serb Zvonko Veselinovic. He is suspected of being involved in killing of the Kosovo Police (KP) officer, Enver Zymberi, who was killed in Serb-controlled northern part of Kosovo eight years ago.
The SPRK’s request has been approved by the Basic Court in Pristina. Mirlinda Gashi, spokeswoman of the Basic Court in Pristina told Gazeta Express that they have issued local and intyernational warrant notice, based on reasonable suspition that Zvonko Veselinovic has committed the criminal charge “Participation or organisation of a criminal group.” According to the SPRK, Veselinovic, is suspected of being involved in killing of the police officer Enver Zymberi, who was shot dead on 25 July 2011 in northern part of Kosovo during a special police operation to take over control of the border crossings with Serbia.
On 25 July 2011 unknown people opened fire towards the KP vehicles during an operation to take over control the border crossings of Jarinje and Brnjak. The police operation triggered reaction of local Serbs who erected barricades and opened fire towards the Kosovo Police to prevent them taking control of the border crossings with Serbia. /GazetaExpress/
