Kosovo Independence Monument honours war rape victims

The NEWBORN monument in Kosovo’s capital Pristina has changed its design on 17 February, Kosovo’s Independence Day, as it does every year. This year the NEWBORN monument will honour victims of sexual violence during the conflicts all over the world.

On 12^th anniversary of the Independence of Kosovo, the designer of the monument, Fisnik Ismaili, has published a photo on how the symbol of the newest state in Europe looks like.

“Good Morning. Congratulation #NEWBORN12″, Ismaili wrote.

The monument was unveiled on Kosovo’s Independence Day on 17 February 2008 and became a symbol of Kosovo’s history a tourist attraction. /GazetaExpress/
