Kosovo Government dismisses board of Telecom as state-owned company is in financial crisis

Kosovo Government during a meeting on Wednesday has dismissed the Board of Directors of the state-owned company Telecom, Gazeta Express reports.  

The decision was taken at the proposal of the Minister of Economy, Rozeta Hajdari. She said the state-owned company is in financial crisis and asked the Government’s swift reaction to save the company from bankruptcy. “The state-owned company is in financial crisis and is about to go bankrupt by risking services, and public property,” Hajdari said during a meeting of the Government headed by Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

“The company has failed to implement the business plan, and the Government has reasons to believe that directors have violated their duties. The Board of Directors allowed exceeded expenses. A resolution approved earlier by Kosovo Parliament allows dismissal of the Board,” Hajdari said.  

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister, Avdullah Hoti, proposed minister Hajdari that before voting on the dismissal of the Telecom Board the Government to convene the Ministerial Committee, however his proposal was not endorsed by the Government. /GazetaExpress/
