Kosovo Government has refuted Belgrade media reports alleging that the caretaker prime minister Albin Kurti has testified at the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office.

Government’s spokesperson, Perparim Kryeziu, in an answer to Gazeta Express has refuted an article published by the Belgrade-based daily Politika. Kryeziu said PM Kurti was never summoned for questioning by the Hague Prosecutors who are investigating and prosecuting alleged crimes committed by the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). “No, the Prime Minister Kurti was never summoned by the Special Court, and this news is fake,” Kryeziu told Gazeta Express. According to Kryeziu PM Kurti’s team has filed a lawsuit against former Kosovo MP, Milaim Zeka, for making the same allegations. “We want to remind that similar allegations were launched to public a few weeks ago in some TV studios, and we have already filed a lawsuit on these allegations,” Kryeziu stated.

Belgrade daily Politika, in an article quoting “sources from Pristina” wrote that former advisor to PM Kurti, Shkelzen Gashi, appearing in Kosovo media has reiterated the same statement that Kurti has testified before the Hague Court. Gashi’s statement in a televised interview that individuals within the KLA have committed crimes has stirred reaction in Kosovo pushing PM Kurti to dismiss him as political advisor. /GazetaExpress/
