The Government of Kosovo has approved the initiative on negotiation of the framework contract of the loan dated 14 August 2020 between Kosovo and the European Union Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on financing the project “Emergency Reaction Against COVID-19.”
Minister of Finances and Transferrs Hekuran Murati said that a 60-million-euro loan will be used to purchase vaccines, as well as other equipment to help fight COVID-19 pandemic. “As part of measures I propose approval of the initiative from the existing agreement on a 60-million euro loan which would enable purchasing vaccines and other equipment,” Murati said during the Government meeting on Tuesday.
Kosovo has received two weeks ago the first batch of 24 thousand vaccines from the COVAX initiative to vaccinate healthcare workers and vulnerable groups. /GazetaExpress/
