Kosovo Deputy Minister offers to resign after he was convicted earlier of misusing official duty
Deputy Minister of Finances,
Qazim Rrahmani, has offered his resignation to the Kosovo Prime Minister Albin
Kurti. The News has been confirmed by Rrahmani in a Facebook post.
Rrahmani, member of the
Party of Ashkali’s for Integration, was recently appointed by Kurti as Deputy
Minister of Finances, despite being convicted of misuse of official duty in
2018, after the was found guilty of misusing the official bank card of the
Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare at the time he served as deputy minister.
According to the
Indictment from June 2015 to January 2016, Rrahmani withdrew more than 12
thousand euro from the official card of the Ministry, without approval of
relevant authorities. He was sentenced to six months imprisonment but at his consent
the sentence was transformed into a fine of 3,000 euro and return the money he has
withdrawn while in his official duty. /GazetaExpress/
