The Government of Kosovo has allocated 100 thousand euro as humanitarian aid for the people of Ukraine, as victim of Russian aggression. The Government during Wednesday’s meeting has also introduced new sanctions against Russia and Belarus, Gazeta Express reports.
Kosovo Foreign Minister Donika Gervalla proposed the Government to allocate 100 thousand euro as humanitarian aid as part of Kosovo position to align with its Western partners. The money will be allocated to the Humanitarian Association “Mother Theresa” which will organise/purchase products “Made in Kosova” which will then be transported to Ukraine.
Gervalla said that Kosovo is a state that understands the importance of the war for freedom and understands every citizen who is forced to flee his/her house because of the aggression.
At the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government of Kosovo has also suspended visa requirements for Ukrainian citizens and has allocated extra funds for sheltering of 20 Ukrainian journalists. Additionally, Kosovo has adopted all sanctions that the European Union and United States have imposed on Russian Federation.
The Government of Kosovo has decided to extend the package of economic-financial sanctions against Russia and Belarus, after Russia’s invasion in Ukraine. The Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that this is the fourth package of sanctions approved by the Government of Kosovo. /GazetaExpress/
