KFOR Mission in Kosovo in a statement Thursday announced that they have initiated a plan for joint operational activities in the area of Kamenica with the Kosovo Border Police.

The move comes after last week media have reported the presence of Serbian Gendarmerie inside Kosovo’s territory, namely the territory of the border village of Karaceva.

According to KFOR’s statement the Regional Command East of the NATO-led KFOR mission has begun to plan joint operational activities with the Kosovo Police in the area of Kamenica. “Today’s planning session followed upon a technical meeting held yesterday at the Headquarters of the Kosovo Police between KFOR Chief of Operations and the Director of the Kosovo Police, together with other officials,” KFOR said. In that occasion both parties expressed mutual satisfaction with the level of cooperation developed to date in the field of security and committed themselves to further strengthen it, through an improved weekly coordination mechanism that will allow an increase of joint Kosovo Police-KFOR patrols in the area of Kamenica.

KFOR remains committed to continue contributing in an impartial way to a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all citizens in Kosovo, in close cooperation with the local institutions and security organizations and the International Community, as per its mandate under the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999. /GazetaExpress/
