A two-day exercise, called Joint Venture 1, was completed on Friday in Pristina. Joint Venture 1 was conducted in the framework of security cooperation in Kosovo between the NATO-led KFOR mission and the European Union Rule of Law Mission (EULEX).

Personnel of KFOR Tactical Reserve Battalion and of the Multinational Specialized Unit trained together with EULEX to keep high standards of response in support to the Kosovo Police.

The aim of the exercise was to rehearse the readiness level in managing emergency situations and the applicable command & control and communications procedures.

Joint Venture consisted of theoretical and practical tests and realistic simulations of crowd and riot control at KFOR’s Italian Carabinieri base in Pristina, with the involvement of more than 100 participants.

The NATO-led KFOR mission is to guarantee a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all citizens in Kosovo, as mandated by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244. KFOR is ready to adopt any necessary measure to keep Kosovo safe, in close coordination with Kosovo Police and EULEX, for the benefit of all communities in Kosovo. /GazetaExpress/
