Investigators of the Hague-based Specialist Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) visited today the Association of Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) Veterans and took thousands of files which were delivered Monday anonymously to the KLA veterans Office in Pristina.

Gazeta Express got hold of a video from the surveillance cameras, showing the investigators entering the premises of KLA Veterans’ Association. The Secretary of the Association, Faton Klinaku, has confirmed the presence of the SPO investigators. “Yes, the Special Court investigators visited us. They asked a copy of the files we received yesterday, we had a spare copy intending to submit to the State Prosecution Office and gave it to the investigators,” Klinaku said.

The head of the Association Hysni Gucati during a press conference on Monday said that a masked man left a box containing four thousand files of the SPO documents. Inside the box was a letter announcing that additional seven thousand files will be handed over to the KLA veterans in coming days, he said. Gucati said the hard copy files contain among other things names of the potential witnesses of the Special Court established to prosecute and try alleged crimes committed by the KLA during and after the war in Kosovo. /GazetaExpress/
