Goran Rakic joins Kosovo Government, Mitrovica North goes to extraordinary elections

Mitrovica North will go to the polls as the Mayor of this municipality, and head of Srpska List, Goran Rakic, has been elected Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government in the newly established Government of Kosovo headed by Avdullah Hoti.

The spokesman for the Central Election Commission (CEC) Valmir Elezi told Gazeta Express that the CEC will start organizing these elections as soon as they are announced. “As always, the Central Election Commission will fulfill its constitutional and legal duties to organize the elections, whenever required,” he said. “The CEC will start with intensive work for the organization of extraordinary elections for mayor of North Mitrovica, after these elections are announced.” Rakic was elected mayor of North Mitrovica in last May’s snap elections. /GazetaExpress/
