Ex-Kosovo Liberation Army Member Held in Turkey on Serbian Warrant

Former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Imri Ilazi, has been held Saturday in Turkey on a Serbian warrant alleging that he committed war crimes during the 1998-99 war in Kosovo.

Head of the Association of KLA Veterans, Hysni Gucati, said that former KLA member Imri Ilazi has been held by Turkish authorities at the Antalya Airport based on an Interpol warrant issued by Serbia.

Gucati urged former KLA members not to leave the country after as he said Serbia has issued new international warrants accusing former KLA members of alleged war crimes. “We learned from our sources that Serbia these days has updated the wanted list with new names of KLA veterans. We urge all veterans not to leave the country these days,” Gucati said adding that Turkey should disregard international warrant lists issued by Serbia. /GazetaExpress/
