EU allocates millions to Western Balkans, including Kosovo
EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and
Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, said Wednesday the European Union has allocated
38 million to help Western Balkan countries deal with the coronavirus outbreak,
Gazeta Express reports.
Varhelyi wrote on Wednesday to all prime
ministers of the Western Balkans, including Kosovo to confirm the EU’s support
in fighting the COVID-19 pandemics. “I wrote to Prime Ministers of our Western Balkans
partners to confirm we stand by the region in fight against coronavirus outbreak.
We are allocating €38m for immediate support to health sectors & foreseeing
over €373 million reallocation for social and economic recovery,” Varhelyi
wrote in Twitter.
The EU office in Kosovo has announced that the EU has allocated five million euro and other financial support to Kosovo institutions. /GazetaExpress/
