The case of Feride Demirova, who received social assistance while owning luxury properties, has once again shocked public opinion after her lawyer, Angel Gjorgjiev, spoke on the show "Pretres me Landov".
According to him, in this case, several people are accused of organizing gambling without a license and money laundering, but he claims that the prosecution must prove that the funds were obtained illegally.
The lawyer points out that Demirova has limited education and would not be able to organize such activities on her own.
He also raised serious allegations of alleged pressure from prosecutor Milica Gavrillova, who allegedly promised him a lighter sentence if he pleaded guilty. The minutes of the hearing, as noted, were not audio-recorded and were not signed by the defendants.
During the investigation, Mercedes and Porsche vehicles, gold jewelry, and three apartments were confiscated from Demirova.
According to the allegations, she participated in online gambling, communicating with clients from Turkey, while receiving part of the proceeds through a company registered in Cyprus.
The lawyer noted that Demirova was not formally employed and at the same time used social assistance, while she had converted part of the funds into cryptocurrencies. During the procedure, she defended herself silently and did not provide explanations for the origin of the money.
