The Assembly is expected to hold its 99th session today, where the agenda includes a proposal-decision to extend the state of crisis due to the risk of disruptions in the supply of oil and oil derivatives in the country, until July 20 of this year. The same proposal is also on the agenda of the Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Security, while according to the draft, the decision will begin to be implemented from April 21.

Following the conflict in the Middle East, the Government on the 23rd of last month decided to reduce VAT on fuel from 18 to 10 percent, release quantities of fuel oil from state reserves, and declared a 30-day state of crisis throughout the country, with the aim of managing the situation and ensuring strategic energy supplies.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski stated that the situation with petroleum products is stable and unchanged, emphasizing that reserves have not been used up. He added that, following movements in international markets, fuel prices in the country are expected to remain the same or decrease.

According to him, the flow of oil through the oil pipelines is stable, while regarding the reduced VAT rate, he said that a decision is expected to be made after April 20. He announced that the discount agreement with the OKTA company is valid until the end of April and that negotiations are also underway for an additional reduction in the price of diesel by at least 1 denar.
