The two-day summit between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing has ended with positive statements, but without clear published results.
At the end of the meetings, Trump described the conversation as "very successful" and "unforgettable," while Chinese state media reported that Xi described the visit as "historic and important."
During the joint press conference, it was said that the two leaders discussed trade, Iran and other global issues, but no in-depth details were given, especially on more sensitive topics such as Taiwan.
Despite expectations, no major economic or political deals were announced. Meanwhile, Trump said in an interview with Fox News that China could buy American oil and up to 200 Boeing planes, but these claims were not confirmed by Beijing, writes the BBC.
During the visit, Xi accompanied Trump to the Zhongnanhai complex, the secretive complex where senior Chinese officials live and work.
The summit ended on friendly tones in public, but with very little transparency about the real content of the discussions.
