A new study suggests that men's greater involvement in daily household chores may positively affect their sexual desire, also bringing benefits to couples' relationships.
The research, published in The Journal of Sex Research, analyzed the relationship between sharing household chores and sexual desire in couples.
The results show that women, in general, bear the brunt of daily chores – from cleaning and childcare to meal planning – which is linked to a decrease in sexual desire.

On the other hand, men report being more involved in tasks like housework or car maintenance. According to the study, their sexual desire increases when they participate more actively in mundane household chores, such as cleaning or organizing.
However, researchers noted that sexual desire in men may decrease if they shoulder a greater share of childcare responsibilities.
The authors emphasize that these results may have practical importance in couples therapy, especially in cases where problems with sexual desire are reported. They suggest that gender expectations and the division of labor in the family may play a key role in relationship dynamics and intimate well-being. /GazetaExpress/
