Renowned Belgian magistrate Michel Claise has once again raised concerns about the Albanian mafia and money laundering in our country. During an interview for Belgian media, Claise said that the mafia is laundering money using hotels in Albania.
He also said that the mafia is laundering money in real estate in Morocco. Former judge Claise has become one of the most well-known figures in his country regarding the fight against corruption and money laundering.
Some time ago, he said that the Albanian mafia in Belgium has become as powerful as the Moroccan mafia, which has dominated for many years. Meanwhile, in another interview, he stated that the Albanian mafia is destroying Albania's beautiful coastline.
"A huge amount of money is being laundered from crime on the Adriatic coast. People will do anything to be allowed to build something. The beautiful coast is under pressure," he wrote.
Claise has published a book about the Albanian mafia, and says that he has investigated this mafia himself and knows its power.
