Five people were arrested today after a raid at the Kosovo Cadastral Agency, the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina announced.
The announcement adds that the arrested are suspected of having committed the criminal offenses of ''Abuse of Official Duty or Authority'', ''Forgery of a Document'', and ''Legalization of False Content'', reports Gazeta Express.
"According to the Prosecution, two of the suspects used a forged 1966 contract to illegally acquire property. An official of the Basic Court in Pristina is suspected of creating fictitious documents to enable its legalization, while two officials of the Kosovo Cadastral Agency are suspected of exceeding their powers by approving the registration of the property illegally," the announcement states.
The prosecution also added that the State Prosecutor, within the legal deadline, will consider the possibility of imposing a security measure in criminal proceedings against the defendants.
