Dozens of Serbs from Serbia and Kosovo gathered at Gazimestan in Kosovo to mark the Serbian holiday of Vidovdan as Kosovo Police secured the area, on Monday. Also KFOR troops are at the scene.

Serbs gather every year at the memorial erected to commemorate the Battle of Kosovo. The ceremony is attended also by Patriarch of Serbian orthodox Church, Profirije and several low ranking Serbian political officials and Kosovo political representatives. The Ottoman empire defeated a Serbian army on 28 June 1389 at the Battle of Kosovo, marking the start of centuries of Ottoman rule in the Balkans.

The Kosovo Police units who are near the monument erected to commemorate the Battle of Kosovo in Gazimestan near capital Pristina, have ordered some of the youngsters to take off their shirts which were considered as provocation and inciting of hatred. No serious incidents have been reported so far. /GazetaExpress/
