Today, the United Nations Security Council will hold its first briefing of this year on the situation in Kosovo. Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gervalla will represent Kosovo in this briefing, Gazeta Express reports.
The regular
quarterly briefing presided over by Vietnam will be held through video link,
when UNSC members will discuss the Report of the UN Secretary general on UNMIK’s
work for the period September 2020 – March 20201.
The
Report includes early parliamentary election held in Kosovo on 14 February and
the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC) indictment against former members of the
Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) in November last year as the main political
events.
The
report emphasizes that these events have slowed down the dialogue between
Kosovo and Serbia adding that the sustainable peace, stability and
socio-economic development in Kosovo and the region depend on the progress in
dialogue aimed at normalization of relations between the two countries. /GazetaExpress/
