Former Swiss Senator Dick Marty has appeared in public again in an interview for a Swiss radio after reports that the police were protecting him due to assassination plot against him by the Serbian secret service in order to blame the Kosovars.

Marty, former Council of Europe rapporteur, whose report was the cause for the establishment of the Specialist Chambers, said all hatred against him was orchestrated by the Serbian secret service. “For some reason, the Albanian press started targeting me. There was a hate speech in the Assembly (of Kosovo) even though I had nothing to do with the arrest of President Hashim Thaci. However, it was later revealed that it was an operation orchestrated by Serbian extremist groups within the secret service who wanted to blame Kosovo for assassinating me,” told the Swiss radio RSI.  He also spoke about the pressure on his family. “I have not spoken before because I had respect, perhaps a lot, for the federal judicial authority,” he said. “There was an excessive pressure on my family, especially on my grandchildren. With this act I want to unmask the criminal design that otherwise would have enjoyed the silence, the ability to move in shadow, and create a surprise. We should not be afraid of the noise of the evil ones but of the silence of the honest.” Marty said there are political reasons that the threat against him has not yet been neutralized. “The Federal Council has intervened twice in my case,” he said. “The absence of a strategy to neutralize the threat against me is for political reasons, considered more important than the rule of law. Official Bern does not want to have problems with anyone, but in fact it has always been a bit like that. I am sorry that none of the politicians responsible for these decisions wanted to give me an explanation.” In an interview for the Swiss media last week Marty had said that “the threat apparently comes from certain circles of the Serbian intelligence services, who asked the underworld, the professional killers, to liquidate me simply to put the blame on Kosovars. As for the killers, they would be part of the ‘crime world’. There are veterans specialized in manslaughter, contract killings, and so it doesn’t take a lot of money to kill someone.” /GazetaExpress/
