Swedish diplomat Carl Bildt, who was EU’s special envoy on ex-Yugoslavia, has harshly criticised US-brokered deals reached between Kosovo and Serbia enabling restoring of air and railway traffic between the two capitals.
Bildt in a Tweet on Wednesday said ex-Serbian dictator, Slobodan Milosevic, would have loved such agreements. “I’m dead certain Milosevic once upon a time would have loved a Trump-like solution for Kosovo. Serb security forces in full ultimate control. Borders. Airspace. Digital space. Trade. Not even a heavy machine gun allowed. And – of course – some limited rights for the Kosovars,” Bildt said.
U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy for Serbia and Kosovo, Richard Grenell, mediated last week two agreements on resumption of air and railway services between the two countries. Grenell, who is the U.S. ambassador to Germany, visited Pristina and Belgrade last week. /GazetaExpress/
