The Democratic league of Kosovo (LDK) in a press statement on Wednesday pledged continuation of negotiations with the Vetevendosje on forming new Government. The LDK says they will respect the will of citizens expressed on 6 October elections. The press release is issued after trade of accusations between the two parties on undermining the coalition talks, Gazeta Express.

The LDK headed by Isa Mustafa has expressed readiness for a co-governance with the Vetevendosje, based on political power reflecting the results of 6 October elections. “The LDK is committed to respect the will of citizens of Kosovo expressed on 6 October parliamentary elections. We have continuously expressed our readiness and our unequivocal pledge on reaching of a co-governance agreement with the Vetevendosje, based on political power the voters gave the two parties, in the spirit of cooperation and aimed at protection and advancing state interests of Kosovo,” it is stated in a press release issued on Wednesday. Further the LDK said the negotiations with Vetevendosje will resume soon and promised disregarding public pressure.

“The LDK has worked and is willing to reach a balanced, sustainable and long-term agreement. Discussions between the two parties, LDk and Vetevendosje, will continue in good faith and understanding, disregarding public pressure and by creating a suitable and rational environment. Our joint goal is to reach an agreement which prioritizes our promises given to citizens of Kosovo aimed at improving their welfare,” it is concluded in the press release.

The LDK’s reaction came after the Vetevendosje accused the LDK of conditioning the negotiations on forming new government with the president’s post, which as the Vetevendosje claims should not be part of negotiations on forming new institutions. /GazetaExpress/
