Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, has announced that the Government of Kosovo gave up developing project on building infrastructure and accessing Kosovo in the existing gas pipeline with North Macedonia, a project supported by the US-based Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
Rizvanolli said that Kosovo Government needs additional information to decide whether the project is suitable for the energy transition in Kosovo. “Facing the MCC deadlines we have decided to move forward and use the allocated fund of the MCC’s compact program to invest in lower risk projects which would help decarbonisation of the energy sector in Kosovo and create conditions for economic development and development of private sector,” Rizvanolli said on Thursday. Gazeta Express reported last week that the Government of Kosovo has refused the project on accessing Kosovo in the gas pipeline. /GazetaExpress/
