The European Union Special Representative on the Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has announced that he held two separate meetings with the chief negotiators Besnik Bislimi of Kosovo and Petar Petkovic of Serbia.
The EUSR in a statement posted on Twitter said that he discussed with chief negotiators on the ways to solve current crisis, Gazeta Express reports.
“This morning, I had two separate meetings with the Chief negotiators of Kosovo and Serbia to discuss ways to solve the current crisis. We will continue our discussions throughout the day,” Lajcak wrote on Twitter.
Also the Department of State’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Gabriel Escobar, has travelled to brussels when he met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Besnik Bislimi and Director of Serbian Government Office for Kosovo, Petar Petkovic. Escobar who is US envoy on the Western Balkans, said that he supports efforts of the European Union to find a solution on the situation created in northern Kosovo after the Government of Kosovo introduced reciprocity on vehicle plates prompting reaction of local Serbs who have blocked the roads in the north. “Number one expectation is de-escalation of tensions,” Escobar was quoted as saying after meeting Bislimi and Petkovic in Brussels. /GazetaExpress/
