The US Ambassador to Pristina, Philip Kosnett, wrote on Twitter that last night together with the Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, he had discussion with the State Department Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Matthew Palmer on the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

“Wide-ranging, productive discussion with PM Albin Kurti and State Dept.’s Matt Palmer last night. The EU-led dialogue process remains essential to Kosovo’s economic success and Euro-Atlantic integration,” Kosnett wrote.

The Dialogue with Serbia was also topic of discussion between Kosovo president Vjosa Osmani and acting US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Philip Reeker who stated that parties should be constructive in dialogue which should be concluded with mutual recognition.

The US State Department issued a statement Tuesday stating that they stands ready to support work towards a comprehensive, binding normalization agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, centered on mutual recognition, that lays the foundations for lasting cooperation and prosperity.  “We support the EU-facilitated Dialogue and encourage the parties to reengage in this process with a sense of urgency to address both technical and political issues.  We will work with Serbia and Kosovo to implement their Washington Commitments in support of the goal of full normalization,” the statement reads. The US State Department said that “unwarranted speculation about changing borders in the Balkans along ethnic lines risks fostering instability in the region and evokes memories of past tensions.” /GazetaExpress/
