The Association of Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) Veterans claim to get hold of a package containing four thousand files of the Hague-based Kosovo Specialist Chambers and Specialist Prosecutor’s Office.

Head of the Association of KLA Veterans, Hysni Gucati, during a press conference Monday said that a man hiding his identity with sunglasses and a hat brough to their office a package with four thousand files and a letter writing that additional seven thousand files will arrive to their office in coming days, Gazeta Express reports. Gucati alleges that in these files are also the names of witnesses. “An unknown person brought the file today at 09:15. He was wearing sunglasses, a mask and a hat. He dropped the package and left. Initially we were afraid to open and following carefully unwrapping the package we saw that it contains materials of the Special Court,” Gucati said. He is convinced these materials are produced by the Special Court. “The materials are produced by the Special Court, someone brought to our Association. There are names of witnesses. Documents bear signatures of international prosecutors and Serbian prosecutors who cooperated with the Special Court,” Gucati said. He said that inside the box it was a letter writing that additional seven thousand similar files will be brought to the KLA Veterans.

The Hague Based Specialist Chambers and Specialist Prosecutor’s Office were established in 2015 by the Parliament of Kosovo to prosecute and try alleged crimes of the KLA. The SPO prosecutors have summoned for questioning more than 200 members of the KLA either as suspects or witnesses. The international prosecutors have announced filing of the first indictments which have not been confirmed by a pre-trial judge. Among those indicted are also Kosovo president Hashim Thaci, and PDK leader Kadri Veseli, who were both held high-ranking positions with the KLA during 1998-1999 war in Kosovo. /GazetaExpress/
