Kosovo asks Apple to recognize its borders

Kosovo Minister of Foreign Affairs, Meliza Haradinaj-Stubll,a wrote a letter to Apple Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook, asking him the company to correctly present Kosovo’s internationally recognized borders in its AppleMaps Service.

Haradinaj-Stublla said that she addressed a letter of request to Apple executive director on 23 July, asking him to accept Kosovo adding that due action expected soon.

In her letter Kosovo minister of Foreign Affairs has mentioned that fact that the indidependence of Kosovo and its borders are recognized by two third of world countries, including the US, UK, Germany, Japan, France, Italy, Canada and many other leading nations. She reminded that Kosovo is member of important international organisations, including IMF, World Bank and EBRD. “On 22 July 2010, the International Court of Justice, in an advisory opinion concluded that the declaration of independence by the Republic of Kosovo on 17 February 2008, did not violate international law,” Haradinaj-Stublla wrote in her letter, and reminded that other platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Spotify have updated their platforms to correctly represent the Republic of Kosovo as a sovereign and Independent state. /GazetaExpress/
