The Basic Court in Pristina, through a press release, announced that it has decided on the request of the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, for the imposition of pre-trial detention in the criminal case against the defendant AP, for the criminal offense of Aggravated Murder.
"The preliminary procedure judge has approved the request of the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina to impose a detention measure on the defendant AP, setting the detention measure for a duration of 1 (one) month," the announcement states.
"After holding the hearing, the Court assessed that the imposition of the measure of detention in this criminal case is an adequate measure since there is a real risk that if the defendant is released, he may flee with the aim of hiding and escaping criminal responsibility and obstructing the normal course of the criminal proceedings. The Court also considers that if the defendant is released, there is a risk that he will obstruct the course of the criminal proceedings, by destroying, hiding, altering or falsifying evidence of the criminal offense or by influencing witnesses," the Court emphasizes.
