The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted a bipartisan delegation of two American congressmen, Keith Self, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe in the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Suhas Subramanyam, member of the Subcommittee on Military and Foreign Affairs.
As reported by the Prime Minister's Media Office, the main topics that Acting Prime Minister Kurti spoke about were defense, namely peace and security in the region.
"He thanked the delegation for its support for NATO membership, in particular for Resolutions 1246 and 1250 of the House of Representatives, which support the aspirations of the Republic of Kosovo to become part of the North Atlantic Alliance and call for American forces to continue contributing within the framework of KFOR," the OPM reports.
At this meeting, Kurti also spoke about compatibility in foreign policy.
"He also discussed Kosovo's investments in defense and other topics, such as the development of technology in the country, where he spoke about increasing economic cooperation in this field and in trade in general, as well as reforms in the field of education," the statement said.
Regarding the Presheva Valley, acting Prime Minister Kurti has stated that there should be comparable rights for minorities in all Western Balkan countries.
