KFOR has announced that the Carabinieri military police have conducted patrols in North Mitrovica. The KFOR announcement adds that the police conduct these patrols regularly, "with the aim of ensuring a peaceful and safe environment."

The announcement also states that these activities reflect KFOR's commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment and supporting freedom of movement for all people living in Kosovo, Gazeta Express reports.

Post:

The Carabinieri Military Police, assigned to the Multinational Specialized Unit (MSU), part of the NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) mission, regularly conduct patrols in North Mitrovica/Severna Mitrovica with the aim of ensuring a safe and secure environment.

These activities help maintain situational awareness and reflect KFOR's commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment and supporting freedom of movement for all people living in Kosovo, in a transparent and impartial manner.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate – based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo and to freedom of movement, at all times and in an impartial manner. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in their respective roles as security responders.
