Mikel Arteta has challenged Arsenal players to write their names in history by completing a double after winning the Premier League.
The Gunners lifted the Premier League trophy after a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the final match of the season. The celebration was great, but Arteta now has his mind on the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest.
The Spanish coach believes that his team is heading towards the final with extraordinary energy and a momentum that should not be interrupted.

"We have to let this energy flow. Going against it would be a big mistake. We have already talked about what we need to do in Budapest and how we will use all this incredible energy that we are carrying with us towards the final," said Arteta.
For Arsenal, winning the Premier League title is a huge achievement, especially after three consecutive seasons as runners-up. However, the Champions League remains the one trophy the London club has never won.
"We are looking forward to writing a new chapter in our club's history and lifting the Champions League," Arteta added.
The Spaniard, who won the FA Cup in his first season as Arsenal manager in 2020, believes champion status will give the team more confidence ahead of the final.

"I told the boys that this shirt now represents something else. We are champions and that brings more confidence, presence and energy. But it also brings another responsibility. Our task now is to raise the standards and achieve even more, because I think we are capable of doing it," he declared.
For Arteta, the championship triumph also brought a sense of liberation after the disappointments of previous years, when Arsenal had been very close to success, but had failed in the end.
"I'm the same, but happier and more relieved. During this journey we have made very big steps and achieved very valuable things. But in the end, we are here to win big trophies. That was the main goal," said Arteta.
He added that the pain of previous failures pushed the team to find new ways to show its character. /GazetaExpress/
"We were very close and we failed a few times in the end. It was very painful, but that's exactly what pushed us to show what we are made of. The way we did it makes this success even more beautiful," Arteta concluded.
