US Senate: Kosovo-Serbia deal should be concluded with mutual recognition, US supports Kosovo Army

The US should continue to support diplomatic efforts of Kosovo and Serbia to reach a historic agreement to normalise relations with mutual recognition as a central element. The US should continue to support the Kosovo Security Force’s gradual transition to a multi-ethnic army for the Republic of Kosovo. The participation of the United States Armed Forces in the KFOR is foundational to the success of KFOR’s mission. Russia has played a destabilizing role in the relationship between Kosovo and Serbia, undermined the sovereignty of Bosnia-Herzegovina, and consistently worked to undermine the NATO and the EU. All these are highlights of a report of the United States Senate Committee on Armed Services for the fiscal year 2021.
