Kosovo President: EU delayed in Kosovo, Western Balkans

Kosovo president, Hashim Thaci, had a meeting with the experts of the Brookings Institute, one of the most influential US think-tanks, to discuss Euro-Atlantic perspective of Kosovo.

Thaci said the EU’s role is indispensable in efforts to reach a lasting peace in the Western Balkans adding that Kosovo is free and independent, but in order for Kosovo to become a success story the country needs to be integrated into the EU and NATO.

Also president Thaci warned that the EU is late dealing with Kosovo and the Western Balkans region and this is hurting the trust of the EU institutions and is diminishing the EU’s influence in the region. “Final peace agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is key to peace, stability, economic development and Euro-Atlantic perspective of Kosovo and the entire region,” Thaci said.

Brookings Institute is one of the most influential think-tanks in the United States, whereas talks with experts of this institute will influence recommendations and decision-making of the US politics. /GazetaExpress/
