Seven arrested in Kosovo suspected of misusing agriculture grants, operation ongoing

The Kosovo Police have arrested at least seven officials of the Agency for Agricultural Development suspected of receiving bribes in exchange of obtaining agricultural grants, Gazeta Express reports.

The arrests are part of a Kosovo-wide police operation over agriculture funding fraud and Gazeta Express has learned that 23 people are expected to be arrested in various parts of Kosovo.  

Minister of Agriculture, Faton Peci, has announced that the prosecution office will not stop until shedding light on all alleged misuses within the Ministry he heads. Peci speaking to T7 show DPT Te Fidani has confirmed that units dealing with economic crimes have contacted him to provide information on alleged misuses within this ministry.  

In a similar operation carried out in February 2021 dozens of people were arrested and nearly 400 thousand euro in cash was seized. /GazetaExpress/
