Serbia’s President reveals a European country ruined his plan to annex Northern Kosovo

Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic, told media in Belgrade that he understood former Kosovo prime minister Ramush Haradinaj introduced 100 percent tax on all Serbian imports was backed by a powerful European state without elaborating further.

During an interview with the Belgrade-based TV Happy, Vucic said that a powerful European country advised Kosovo introduce tariffs in order to halt Serbia from participating the dialogue with Kosovo at the time when the parties were ready to sign a compromise deal. According to Vucic part of this compromise was for Serbia to annex Northern Kosovo inhabited mainly with Serbs and Anamorava region. “It was impossible for Albanians to take such actions without support from outside. Of course, Albanians have had the support of most of the European powers, aimed at making Serbia leave the dialogue, in order for Serbia not to claim the North of Kosovo, Anamorava or something else. So the goal was clear to waste a plan acceptable for Serbia,” Vucic said. Serbian president said that initially he was not aware of such a plan, adding that “now he knows everything.”

“I understood later. I know everything now. Who asked it, who told them. Of course, an important power from outside,” Vucic said. He went further saying that now after the parties blew up the chance to get a deal, he cannot take the responsibility if a “catastrophe” happens in the future. /GazetaExpress/
