After the Western Balkan leaders meeting in Berlin hosted by German chancellor Angela Merkel and French president Emmanuel Macron, Kosovo prime minister Ramush Haradinaj said that he asked the hosts to continue protecting the right of Kosovo on its statehood and territorial integrity, because as he said, Kosovo as a small country has no capacities to do that.
“Recognition means respecting existing borders.
Revised borders would lead to new ethnic division and maybe incite violence,”
Haradinaj said in his speech he read at the Summit which he posted in his

Serbia should recognise Kosovo’s independence and its sovereignty. “Recognition
is the starting point towards progress: it is not the final point. Without
mutual recognition and respect there can be no progress. The recognition means
overcoming all other barriers to success. For instance, there will be no need
for trade barriers. The recognition means permanent respecting of existing
borders. Revised borders would enable a new division along ethnic lines and
lead towards violence,” Haradinaj said in his speech in Berlin.
