Samedin Mehmeti appointed chief of Kosovo Police

Caretaker Government of Kosovo led by Avdullah Hoti has appointed Samedin Mehmeti as the General Director of the Kosovo Police, Gazeta Express reports.

The Caretaker Cabinet proposed to PM Hoti appointment of Samedin Mehmeti as chief of police who made the appointment. A Government’s statement says the decision will enter into force after publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Kosovo.

The new chief of police has been appointed three months after Mehmeti was assigned as acting director. He replaced Rashit Qalaj who in October 2020 was dismissed by prime minister Avdullah Hoti due to poor performance. /GazetaExpress/
