A pre-trial judge at the Basic Court of Pristina granted the applications of a prosecutor from the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo, and ordered the detention on remand for the Kosovo Police officer of Serbian community, Rade Basara, who was arrested in northern part of the country, Gazeta Express reports.
The Kosovo Police officer was arrested on Wednesday during an operation in northern Kosovo suspected of hiding evidence related to an investigation into killing of the Kosovo Serb political leader, Oliver Ivanovic, who was gunned down in Mitrovica North in January 2018. The Basic Court in Pristina has ordered a one-month detention on remand. The Kosovo Police during an operation in northern Kosovo has arrested Basara and wanted for arrest the other officer Zeljko Bojic, suspected of obstructing investigations into killing of Invanovic. The Prosecutor of the case Syle Hoxhaj addressing media after the police operation on Wednesday said that the two officers are suspected also of being involved in other criminal offences and were under direct control of the underworld gangster turn politician, Milan Radoicic, who is one of the main suspects in Ivanovic’s case and who is being sheltered by authorities in Serbia. /GazetaExpress/
