The Kosovo Police (KP) have arrested Tuesday a person and two others are wanted, suspected of a breach in the State Treasurer’s Office and illegally transferring more than two million euro to the account of an economic operator.

The Kosovo Police in its daily report said that they asked freeze of bank accounts of all the suspects after they found that some of the money was transferred out of the country.

Minister of Finances, Hykmete Bajrami, during a press conference confirmed the breach of the Treasurer’s Office adding that over two million euro have been transferred illegally to the account of an economic operator, without providing further details.

“There are four suspicious transactions, which were executed from the account of Treasurer’s Office operating within the Ministry of Finances. Two million euro have been transferred to the account of an economic operator,” Bajrami told media. She said that once they identified the case they have reported to the relevant authorities and currently there is an overall investigation.

Bajrami said that two officials have been suspended and one of them has been arrested by the Kosovo Police. She assured citizens that this is an isolated case, and the bank transfer can be easily tracked to see who the final recipient is. The police in its statement said that they asked freezing all bank accounts of the suspects and its units have raided the houses of suspects as part of the investigation. /GazetaExpress/
