Oliver Ivanovic Murder Suspects’ Plead Not Guilty

The six accused of being involved in killing of the Kosovo Serb politician, Oliver Ivanovic, have pleaded not guilty Tuesday during initial hearing held at the Basic Court in Pristina.

Marko Rosic, Nedeljko Spasojevic, Dragisa Markovic, Zarko Jovanovic, Slivana Arsovic, and Rade Basara, are accused of being involved in killing of Kosovo Serb leader Oliver Ivanovic, who was shot dead on 16 January 2018 in Mitrovica North. One of the accused, Zarko Jovanovic, plead guilty of illegally possession of weapons.

In April 2021, the Court of Appeals has confirmed the indictment against the six Kosovo Serbs. The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo pm 27 December 2019 filed an indictment against the six accused suspected of being involved in Ivanovic’s killing. The initial hearing was held on 11 February 2020, and after appealing the indictment the Court of Appeals has remanded the case for retrial. The Appellate judges asked the prosecutor of the case to consolidate his indictment in compliance with the Criminal Procedure Code of Kosovo. Later on 10 November 2020, the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo filed a new indictment, which was confirmed by the Court. Kosovo Serb politician Oliver Ivanovic was shot dead in front of his political party’ office on 16 January 2018. /GazxetaExpress/
