New Kosovo Government to scan all agreements reached with Serbia
All 33 agreements between Kosovo and
Serbia reached during the EU-facilitated dialogue in Brussels will be reviewed.
This was promised by the Vetevendosje who won 6 October elections in Kosovo and
who are expected to form the new Government.
Vetevendosje leader and likely prime
minister, Albin Kurti, told Ekonomia Online portal that initially they will
scan all the agreements to see which were fully implemented and to see their
impact in the everyday life of citizens. Kurti said that in his first months in
his office his Government will scan all the agreements reached with Serbia so
far. Also political commentator Armend Muja said that Kosovo needs to review
all agreements reached with Serbia so far. He said that some of the agreements
are to the detriment of Kosovo and needs to be revised. He also said that some
of the agreements, such as the Agreement on energy, Agreement on reopening of
Mitrovica Bridge are not being implemented. Kosovo and Serbia launched
technical dialogue in 2011 and after years of negotiations both parties have
reached 33 agreements.
