Minister of Finances and Head of EU Office in Kosovo discuss establishment of the Sovereign Fund

Minister of Finances, Labour and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, hosted Tuesday the Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Tomas Szunyog. During the meeting they have discussed restructuring of social schemes, fighting informal economy and creation of the Sovereign Fund, Gazeta Express reports.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finances, Murati has informed Ambassador Szunyog on the measures expected to be taken to recover country’s economy hit by COVID-19 pandemic, and the help that Government will offer to private sector aimed at preserving jobs and a sound economy.

Murati and Szunyog reconfirmed the joint engagement on implementation of the economic structural reforms, as well as supporting implementation of joint infrastructure projects, such as rehabilitation of the Power Plant Kosova B.

Head of EU office in Kosovo, Ambassador Tomas Szunyog informed Minister Murati on various projects financed by the European Union, assessed the fact that the Government has common development objectives with those of the European Union and expressed readiness to continue cooperation in fields of mutual interest, according to the Ministry of Finances statement. /GazetaExpress/
