The police in Kosovo have arrested Tuesday a man from Klina municipality, suspected of killing a Roma man in 1999, Gazeta Express has learned.
The State Prosecution Office has confirmed that a Kosovo man was arrested Tuesday and was ordered a 48-hours detention. “The Basic Prosecution in Peja and Regional Police in Peja on 28 January 2020, at around 10:00hrs, have arrested a man suspected of klling a person in 1999 (after the war),” the State Prosecution Office and Kosovo Police said in a joint statement. The case, according to the Prosecution Office was targeted as the “after war killing.”
Kosovo war ended in June 1999 after a 78-days campaign of NATO against Serbian military and police targets which stopped a humanitarian crisis. The war in Kosovo left over 13 thousand people dead and more than 2000 went missing. /GazetaExpress/
