Lajcak: No Kosovo-Serbia agreement without Association

EU Special Representative for Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, during a press conference in Pristina said that there will be no agreement between Kosovo and Serbia if Pristina does not establish the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities.

He said that Kosovo has pledged to establish the Association and this EU-facilitated agreement should be implemented. “I am here to facilitate the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. If there is no deal, there can be no normalization of relations. And there will be no agreement without Association. Kosovo has taken this pledge and has signed the agreement. The Association is part of the process, is part of the dialogue. We are not asking reopening of the text, but we want to implement what was already signed,” Lajcak said.

The EU Special Representative for Dialogue called on Kosovo partners that based on the agreements signed in 2013 and 2015, as well as the opinion of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo to present their position and to be ready to discuss the Association of Serb Municipalities.

Lajcak concluded his two-day visit to Kosovo today when he met Kosovo’s institutional and political leaders to discuss the EU-facilitated dialogue with Serbia. After Kosovo Lajcak has travelled to Belgrade when he is expected to meet Serbian state leaders. /GazetaExpress/
