Kosovo’s president says the message of WB Summit was: We agreed to disagree!
After the conclusion of the Western Balkans Summit held in Berlin on Monday, Kosovo president Hashim Thaci addressing media said that this was a very difficult meeting, noting that he heard disappointing news on visa liberalisation for Kosovo.
“Kosovo has fulfilled all the criteria.
There was no clarity on visa liberalisation, because this is injustice and
punishment for Kosovo,” Thaci said after the summit. He said that Kosovo
remains committed to normalisation of relations with Serbia, and they have
carefully listened to the German chancellor Angela Merkel and French president
Emmanuel Macron who hosted the Summit on Monday. “This frozen conflict between Kosovo and
Serbia needs to be overcome and the only alternative is the dialogue. There
will be no conditioned dialogue and this dialogue should happen in a normal
process for recognition of Kosovo,” from Serbia, Thaci said. Thaci confirmed
that the Western Balkan leaders will gather again on 1 July in Paris at the
invitation of President Macron. Thaci said that there will be no exchange of
territories between Kosovo and Serbia adding however that he will work for
Presheva, Medvegja and Bujanoc to join Kosovo territory. “This is an historic
correction of injustice. I will not allow autonomy of Serbs in Kosovo. These
ideas are dead. There will be no association of Serb-majority municipalities with
executive powers. Only an association which is in line with the Constitution,”
Thaci said. He said imposing 100 percent tax on Serbian goods was a legitimate
proposal, and commenting on the results of the Western Balkans leaders meeting
Thaci said: “We agreed to disagree”. /GazetaExpress/
