Kosovo visit shows US commitment to Implementing Washington Agreement, says Grenell

US President Trump’s special envoy on Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Richard Grenell, said Monday’s visit to Pristina shows US commitment to implementation of the Agreement signed on September 4 in Washington.

Grenell during a joint press conference with Kosovo prime minister Avdullah Hoti, stated that Trump’s Administration “makes no empty promises.”

“We want to show to the people of Kosovo, who are our allies, that we are with you,” Grenell said.

A US government delegation led by U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Chief Executive Officer Adam Boehler joined by Grenell, arrived in Kosovo today when they met Prime Minister Hoti and signed an agreement on implementation of the Washington deal.

DFC and EXIM recently signed Letters of Interest (LOIs) with Serbia and Kosovo to help finance the important projects identified in the September 4 agreements. Grenell said they agreed with authorities in Kosovo to create teams which would be tasked to implement these projects. “We want to help generate new jobs which would help overcome old political issues,” he said.

DFC CEO Adam Boehler said that based on the agreement one billion dollars will be invested in Kosovo and they are committed to sign a deal and help Kosovo.

Kosovo prime minister Avdullah Hoti said that US delegation visit shows how serious the US Administration is to implement the agreement. Hoti said that he discussed with his US friends on all points of the agreement. “Very soon we will move towards implementation of the agreement. A new momentum has been created,” Hoti said. /GazetaExpress/
