Kosovo President has no legitimacy to lead the dialogue with Serbia, says Speaker Osmani

Speaker of Kosovo Parliament, Vjosa Osmani, appearing in T7 broadcaster show Pressing on Monday, said president Hashim Thaci has no legitimacy to lead the dialogue with Serbia and she raised this issue within forums of her party – the LDK, but as she said, she lacked the understanding of party members.

“The idea was to inform internationals that Thaci has no legitimacy to lead the dialogue. But this was not understood by my party,” Osmani said. According to Osmani the Constitution does not allow country’s President to lead the dialogue.

Osmani in her interview gave indications that she might consider leaving the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) after disagreements with party’s leadership over the coalition with Albin Kurti’s Vetevendosje. Osmani was against initiating a no-confidence motion in Kurti’s Government and voted against ousting of the Government on 25 March 2020. She was criticised by LDK’s leader Isa Mustafa and other members of the party for going against party’s interests. “It ‘s not all about being part of the LDK, but the essence is to help your country through contribution in the LDK,” she said. /GazetaExpress/
