Kosovo MP convicted of fraud surrenders to authorities

Member of Kosovo Parliament Etem Arifi, convicted of fraud, has surrendered to authorities today. The news has been confirmed by the Correctional Service of Kosovo.

Correctional Service spokesperson told Gazeta Express that Arifi has been surrendered to authorities and was transferred to the Detention Centre of Pristina. MP Arifi was at large since he was convicted to one year and three months imprisonment by a final court decision found guilty of fraud with subventions. Recently the Constitutional Court ruled as inadmissible a request of MP Arifi who challenged the decision of the Supreme Court of Kosovo upholding the sentence of the Basic COurt in Pristina as the first instance court. /GazetaExpress/
